PLAYGROUND MATERIAL

For many years Roberts Brothers has been a trusted source of playground safety material for western Massachuetts area schools and parks. We offer an all natural playground material that meets state specifications in the Northeast and is free of contaminants such as twigs, leaves, and excessive bark. Clean wood chips from our saw mill are ground in our tub grinder to produced a smaller fiber. Our material is generated in a controlled environment during our lumber milling process.  Our playground chip is NOT the residual forest waste ground during tree trimming and land clearing which often do not meet government safety recommendations. 

The US Consumer Products Safety Commission in its Public Playground Safety Handbook, recommends a minimum of 9 inches of safety material.
