Roberts Brothers Lumber Co., Inc. was founded in 1947 by brothers Pete & Gibby Roberts. Today Pete's son, Leonard carries on the family business with the help of a dedicated workforce consisting of loggers, sawyers, lumber inspectors, graders, foresters, mechanics, truck drivers, and office support staff.
Located in the heart of the Berkshire Hills in western Massachusetts, Roberts Brothers manages forest land, produces a variety of hardwood and softwood dimensional lumber products for worldwide distribution, and several other quality forest products including native bark mulch, wood fuels, and specialty playground materials. With over 2,000 acres owned or leased by the company and a capacity to produce more than 70,000 board feet of lumber weekly, Roberts Brothers has grown into one of the largest sawmill operations in Massachusetts.

While we take great pride in our rich history and over seven decades of leadership in the regional forest products industry, our company is making great strides in its efforts to continue to modernize our operations and diversify with new wood-based products.
Presently Roberts Brothers together with key strategic partners is developing a modern combined heat and power facility utilizing advanced bioenergy conversion technology to convert agricultural sawmill waste to renewable heat and electricity. Heat from the facility will be utilized for the drying of wood chips in a rotary drum dryer and lumber and firewood will be seasoned in a recently purchased dry kiln. By offering new and innovative products such as dry fuel chips, kiln dried lumber, seasoned firewood, and biochar soil amendments, Roberts Brothers envisions a very bright future thanks to a diverse array of new products.
